TACLOBAN CITY – The shellfish ban remains in effect in Matariñao Bay in Eastern Samar after laboratory tests confirmed red tide toxins in shellfish meat samples collected from the area, the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) said. The affected waters cover the municipalities of General MacArthur, Quinapondan, Hernani, and Salcedo, according to Shellfish Bulletin No. 23, released on Monday. BFAR advised the public to refrain from gathering, selling, and eating all types of shellfish
