Yohanan Elishuv, last surviving fighter who raised Eilat's Ink Flag in 1948, dies at 95

Yohanan Elishuv, a key figure in Israeli history, has passed away at the age of 95. He was the last surviving fighter who raised the Ink Flag in Eilat in 1948.

Elishuv's military career included being transferred to the southern front under Uzi Narkiss during the first truce in June 1948, where he was wounded after driving over a mine, but later returned to combat.
