The US administration has called on NATO member states to withdraw from the Rome Statute, the founding treaty of the International Criminal Court (ICC), and end their support for it.
The demand was made by US Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker during a closed-door meeting of ambassadors, according to three NATO diplomats.
