Tossing bread into the ocean on the Jewish New Year

On Sunday, hundreds of Jews in LA will walk to the beach to participate in Tashlich, a tradition where they symbolically cast their sins into the water by throwing bread crumbs.

The tradition is part of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, and can be performed at any body of 'living waters', not just the ocean.
