Rent Authority Can’t Invoke Special Eviction Powers In General Cases: MP High Court

The Indore bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court has ruled that Rent Controlling Authorities cannot exercise special eviction powers under Chapter III-A of the MP Accommodation Control Act unless the landlord belongs to a category specified under Section 23-J. The court upheld the setting aside of an eviction order and dismissed the landlord’s second appeal.
