Mumbai civic hospitals are facing ICU shortages amid rising dengue and malaria cases, affecting critical care access. A dengue patient at K.M.J. Phule Hospital in Vikhroli was referred due to unavailable ICU facilities. Dr Jitendra Jadhav said the ICU has remained non-operational for nearly a year because of specialist doctor shortages and stressed patient safety concerns.
