Jerusalem deputy mayor pushes to rename King George street after UK sanctions on settlements

Jerusalem deputy mayor Aryeh King has submitted a request to rename King George Street, a main thoroughfare in the capital, to 'Tabur Haaretz' ('Navel of the Land') in response to UK sanctions on settlements.

The request was submitted to Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Lion, who also serves as chairman of the street naming committee, on Wednesday morning.
