Father's Volkswagen EV repeatedly accelerated on its own, locked his young family inside 'and almost killed them'

Matt Hinton, a 52-year-old single father, leased a VW ID4 for work, but it soon developed severe issues, including uncontrolled acceleration and door locking.

The problems culminated in a series of near misses, with the car suddenly accelerating and preventing passengers from opening the doors, putting Hinton and his children in danger.
