Day-long brownout hits parts of South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat

TUPI, South Cotabato — A day-long power supply interruption on Sunday struck parts of South Cotabato and Sultan Kudarat due to preventive maintenance operations. This prompted some residents in areas served by the South Cotabato I Electric Cooperative (SOCOTECO I) to head to spring resorts to escape the heat. The National Grid Corp of the Philippines (NGCP) earlier said the outage was scheduled from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and affected SOCOTECO I’s franchise area, which included parts of South Cotabato
